December 6th was our dear teacher Walter Levin's 85th Birthday! Celebration concerts were held in Berlin with some of his former students. To play a concert at the Berlin Philarmonie dedicated to him was really special for us. Check below the text we wrote for him at the celebration program.

Some days to go and great experiences to stay: Cambridge, Davos, Llanes, Gijón, Mendelssohn Octet with the Doric Quartet, Black Angels with the amazing Coreographer Hideto Heshiki, Webern in the Pre-Romanesque walls of Valdediós, wonderful days of work with friends, colleagues and students in de International Summer Course of Llanes....
The Cuarteto Quiroga performed in Paris (Les Invalides) and in Fontaiebleau's Castle with great success of audience and critics. The program included works by Haydn, Berg and Beethoven. Check the complete critique of LeMonde clicking here.
The concerts of the Cuarteto Quiroga in the Heidelberger Frühling were praised by audiences and critics. The Quiroga performed works by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Sollima, Arriaga, Respighi with countertenor Jake Arditti and collaborated with Professor Valentin Erben (Alban Berg Quartett) in his lecture on Schubert's writing and reading. Last 25th of August, the Cuarteto Quiroga made its first appereance in Oviedo, performing works by Mozart, Bartók and Beethoven at the spectacular cloister of the Cathedral, filled up with audience... The last concerts of the Cuarteto Quiroga in Durango, Oviedo, and their presentation in the Quintessence series in Aachen and at the Kaisersaal in Frankfurt were praised by both audience and press. In Aachen the concert was offered on the memory of one of the most important figures for the birth of the Cuarteto Quiroga, the great violinist and leader of the Orfeus Quartett, Charles-André Linale.
The Cuarteto Quiroga has recently joined the faculty of the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón, in Zaragoza, Spain, holding the Chair of String Quartet at the Chamber Music Department. Visit the Conservatory's webpage at www.csma.es.
